Comfort Management

If you find yourself feeling apprehensive or even panicky at the thought of visiting the dentist or having your teeth worked on, you are not alone.

Among the most common phobias, visiting the dentist causes many people severe anxiety and stress. We are able to offer a number of options to make your dental visit as comfortable as possible. These techniques enable patients, who might otherwise avoid the dentist, to receive the dental treatment needed. Depending on the extent of the anxiety, varying degrees of dental sedation can be used.

There is a safe, comfortable relaxation method available for you- just ask anyone on our staff for more information. We are happy to help you!

Preventative Care

Good preventative care can reduce dental problems and prolong the life of your teeth. At your regular hygiene appointments, you can expect one of our very capable hygienists to perform your teeth cleaning and take appropriate x-rays. Also, an important part of their job is to educate you in the proper care of your teeth. We will perform an oral cancer examination as well as a complete examination of your teeth. We recommend hygiene appointments every six months for everyone over the age of 5. At each preventative visit, we will ask you to book your next appointment so we can reserve the day and time that best fits your schedule.

Restorative Care

This refers to the restoration of teeth that have been damaged, decayed, or lost. The procedures for restoration would include composite fillings, crowns, and bridges. Once we have examined your teeth and evaluated your dental and medical history, we will provide you with a diagnosis, and treatment options.

Periodontal Services

One of the principal causes of gum inflammation and bleeding is the inability for some people to floss below the gum line to remove the bacteria and calculus out of the gum crevice. This can cause periodontitis, which is the initial phase of periodontal disease. For those people, our hygienists can perform root planning, a process in which the hardened plaque, food debris, and pus is removed from beneath the gum surface. Special instruments are used to clean the pockets of debris, and to smooth the root surfaces. When the causes of the infection are removed, the gum tissues are allowed to heal and become healthy. Ongoing maintenance, local antimicrobial medication, and good home care are usually very effective in the treatment of periodontal disease.

Mouth Guards

A mouthguard is custom crafted to fit just over your teeth. It relieves stress on your teeth, so they are much less likely to chip, crack, or break. It also relieves pressure and stress on your jaw joints, which can reduce or eliminate the headaches and pain that can be associated with bruxism (teeth grinding and clenching) and TMJ syndrome. Also, if you have porcelain veneers, crowns, or bridges, we will likely have you wear a mouthguard to protect your smile.
